Thurs. May 16th
In class, we completed the research document on genetic engineering.

We are almost done learning about genetic diseases, quiz next Thurs with notes.

Students should have shared their 4 Dalton trail entries as of Tuesday.  Tonight, students have to improve their actual entries to a higher standard:
  • what does it look like around you? what are the producer species (plants-trees) growing? describe the biome you are in?
  • what are the animals or animal tracks you would have seen today?  birds?
  • which traditional territory are you traveling on?  who are the resident First Nation? talk about trading (what? who?)
  • Are you in a Summer camp? a Fall camp? a Winter camp? a Spring Camp? what would this camp look like if it was a busy time of the season?
  • How are your feeling about your journey?
Historical facts need to be highlighted in yellow
Place names need to be
highlighted in green
There are examplars of this project from last semester posted on May 14th as well.

Work on minimum 4 entries from Dyea to Carmacks traveling on the Chilkoot trail, Southern Lakes, Yukon River.
Maps were posted on Tuesday.  Similar expectations as the Dalton Trail - needs to be shared by Monday night at the latest.

Students not handing their work on time would be expected to be at school on Friday May 24th as a comp day is an excellent time to catch up on missing assignment(s).
